Second painting in series…

Six Degrees Of Separation

Six Degrees Of Separation

This is the second painting in the new series of paintings that I am in the process of creating for the gallery in Bridlington. It is 40cm x 30cm and painted with acrylic paints and inks on a deep edged box cavas.  This one is called Six Degrees Of Separation and is based on the theory that anyone on the planet can be connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries. I have used colours to simply represent the six degrees. This theory has also been used as a basis for a play by John Guare in 1990 and a film in 1993.

I like to try and utilise popular phrases and quotations as a basis for my abstract works, as I like to try and create more than one interpretation of the words they contain.

My next painting will probably be along similar lines, geometric and colourful in design.

I like this painting – especially the thought that has gone into which colours touch each other. Very clever.
