I seem to be at my most creative at this time of year – I have completed several paintings in recent weeks, some of which have been on the go for a while, others I started from scratch.
I have also begun to diversify with my artistic work, and am in the process of making some trinket boxes. I bought 6 or 7 small wooden boxes from a local craft store just before Christmas, which were various shapes and sizes, all just plain wood with hinged lids. I have already lined and painted one square box, which is being decorated in the style of my painting “Mesmerised” – using blue, lilac and silver paint instead of the black, white and yellow I used in Mesmerised.
I am hoping to take these to sell at an outdoor exhibition in Beverley in July, which I have applied for. It will be a table-top style of exhibition, so I really need to try and sell smaller paintings and gift-styled artwork. The exhibition is to mark the 600 year anniversary of the North Bar in Beverley.
I will post some images on here when I have completed them.
